TERRAGRN Foundation established to enable local communities for a climate-resilient future
TERRAGRN is delighted to announce the establishment of a non-profit company (NPC) in South Africa to augment TERRAGRN’s ongoing nature-based work and social impact. The purpose of the TERRAGRN Foundation is to enhance peoples’ lives and transform societies in a sustained manner through positive impacts from nature-positive and climate-smart strategies.
Like many other parts of the world, South Africa is continuously challenged in its ability to deal with climate change, biodiversity loss, water scarcity and land degradation. These issues directly impact food security, health and well-being, education, and employment. The negative effects are felt most by the vulnerable groups in society – smallholder households, and women and children in rural and peri-urban regions.
The TERRAGRN foundation will advocate investments in initiatives that promote regenerative practices, empower women and youth, and enhance health and wellbeing. The foundation will be a platform for knowledge sharing, capacity development, community building, and promoting women entrepreneurship.
TERRAGRN’s private sector business and the foundation will collaborate on initiatives, while leveraging resources and networks where appropriate. The ultimate goal is to amplify the ecological, social, and economic impacts within developing economies.
