TERRAGRN is a private-sector enterprise, cultivating & operating large biodiverse agroforests
By revitalising degraded landscapes, we address and mitigate the environmental, social, and economic impacts of the climate crisis. Our agroforests safeguard food security, expedite socio-economic development in local communities, and support the renewable energy transition away from fossil fuels.
TERRAGRN is a pioneering player in the green economy and is changing the status quo of how business is done so that it restores rather than damages the planet. We are creating an open-source, community-centric blueprint to replicate our innovative model globally.
TERRAGRN transforms degraded and unutilised lands into sustainable, biodiverse and carbon-sequestering agroforests in Africa
We believe that businesses can no longer ignore the climate crisis. By investing time and capital into nature we can revive biodiversity, sequester carbon, improve productive yield, generate jobs, bring more women into the workforce, and create socio-economic progress.
Our mission is to create positive social, environmental, and economic change through inspirational nature-based solutions, developed in collaboration with local communities.
We will initially focus our efforts in South Africa, before expanding our agroforestry systems internationally. We are uniting government agencies, local communities, global foundations, multilateral banks, development finance institutions, research universities, regional NGOs, and corporations to deliver our unique vision, based on five key components:
